Universal Life Church - Religious Definitions and Professionalism

Religious Definitions & Professionalism

One of my biggest objectives as leader of the Universal Life Church is to legitimize its name in the eyes of the world. Let us make no mistake, there's many and with just reason that look upon the Universal Life Church as a scam. It is not a scam as much as it is a lack of education by leaders thereof, myself excluded.

I have four sisters, three of which who used to be Nuns, two of the three did not make their final vows. I went to a Christian grade school, a Christian High School and a private College with post grad seminary studies. I am well educated from a Religious standpoint.

I've spent a great deal of time arguing with Amy Smith Long who is a Minister with Modesto who operates what she refers to as a seminary, we were arguing over the meaning of the word universal. We are a Church, a Religious Organization, we are Ministers, I could give a doggone what a Webster's Dictionary says. If we were politicians or travel agents, the definition provided by Websters is more acceptable, but the fact is we are Churches and/or Ministers and we must look at it from a Religious Prospective.

From a Religious Prospective Universal means Catholic, it is derived from the Greek Language and it mean's the one. You can run around and argue such all you want, but what is it you will accomplish?

You will make yourself look uneducated, unprofessional and frankly like a real idiot.

Like it or not, Kirby started Life Church and added Universal more than likely not knowing the implications the word Universal would have. Universal was fine for his political party with Gabriel Green, but for a Church who ordained non-Christians?

More unprofessionalism, more lack of knowledge and the choice
of name by Modesto is another example of misguided leadership.

Just like my previous blog with memeber or member, George Freeman used to always ask me why there was such a lack of professionalism on his Minister's Network.

The professionalism of you as a Minister starts at the top.

How can you be viewed as a professional minister when your ordination certificate makes it appear you are a member of the congregation instead of a Minister? Or the leader of your so called organization has little or no education.

I as a leader I demand professionalism from each and every member I ordain. Why? Because it is a reflection of each and every individual that is a memeber of the ULC Clergy or a member of the ULC Congegation, be-it mine or any other Universal Life Church. It will reflect how we are personified to the public sector as a Religious organization. If we want to be respected as a major Religious Organization we must earn that respect and that is not going to come unless it starts at the top.

Our ULC has absolutely no issues with any wedding authority anywhere. Our Ministers perform ceremonies where other ULC's ministers can't. Part of this is because we are faith based and we have a real doctrine, but also part of it is also the professionalism our Ministers.

We include verification letters Free of Charge (what one organization calls a Letter in Good Standing and charges $15-$25 with P&H for each).

Why do we include these free????

Do you honestly believe real faith based Ministers have to purchase a LETTER IN GOOD STANDING from their Church, to allow them to officiate weddings.

NO

That is why reputable ULC's provide Ministry Credentials, including an optional PICTURE Minister's ID Card. If a County Clerk or Wedding Authority needs verification from the Church over and above that? A Minister should again not be expected to have to pay for a verification letter, such is not very professional now is it.

We charge for a Basic Ministry Credential Kit and our Minister PICTURE ID, just like
any other ULC. In fact our cost is less. Just like other ULC's our ordination is FREE.

If your Church does not offer Minister Picture ID's it is for good reason and you'd be well advised to stay clear of that Church, non-picture ID's are worthless and again not very professional.

PROFESSIONALISM STARTS AT THE TOP & TRICKLES ON DOWN TO EACH AND EVERY MINISTER THIS IS WHY I PREFER TO LEAD BY TEACHING MY MINISTERS & FOR MANY OF THESE BLOGS I WRITE

My decision to ordain only Non-denominational Ministers or Independent Catholic Priests is simple, that is all I am qualified to do and I refuse to compromise the professionalism or integrity of the Universal Life Church name by ordaining those of other faiths, even though ordinations like other ULC's would primarily constitute as being nothing more than that of a wedding minister ordination, over and above what is already allowed to you without ordination by the 1st Amendment.
