Anybody can ordain a Wedding Minister or Interfaith Minister

With respect to what some Churches refer to as "Interfaith Ordination" such an ordination is not a faith based ordination. Furthermore such an ordination does not require the ordaining party to be a Church.

 

In accord with statute here in the USA, your spouse, friend or next door neighbor or even yourself could claim to be a Religious Organization or Entity, request an Employee Identification Number from the IRS and presto be all set to ordain anyone "Interfaith" or as a Wedding Minister including yourself. You are not required by law to be incorporated, a non profit or an LLC.

 

With Faith Based Ordination such as we offer, it is different. Faith Based Ordination can only be administered by someone qualified within the respective faith and in accord with a legitimate doctrine of the respective faith.

 

We are the only Universal Life Church who provides Faith Based Ordination, by an individual qualified to provide such an ordination and with succession to Jesus Christ. An individual baptized, confirmed and ordained within the Christian Faith with a traceable lineage to Christ.

 

Most other faiths other than Christian do not ordain, they appoint, initiate or utilize other terminology than ordination.
