Universal Life Church - With Psychics & Mediums What Do You Believe?

Folks - I know what The Bible says and how I interpret such, The Bible strongly condemns spiritism, mediums, the occult, and psychics (Leviticus 20:27; Deuteronomy 18:10-13). Horoscopes, tarot cards, astrology, fortune tellers, palm readings, and séances fall into this category as well. These practices are based on the concept that there are gods, spirits, or deceased loved ones that can give advice and guidance. These “gods” or “spirits” are demons (2 Corinthians 11:14-15).

But yet I struggle with condemning some of the more famous psychics, perhaps it is because I can't pass judgment as it is not my place to do so. Furthermore these people truly believe in God. I have personally got to know John Edward over the years and I simply can't doubt his accuracy.

Do we misinterpret the Bible or are we being led by evil forces?

I will add I welcome John Edward as a fellow Christian and Catholic, he is a follower of our Universal Life Church and as leader thereof I will never turn him away. I look at John as a Christian and I welcome him as an ordained Minister if this is what he chooses to do and YES I will ordain him as a Catholic Priest.

The Universal Life Church will ordain any one who professes to be of the Christian Faith as a Non-Denominational Minister or as a Independent Catholic Priest. We are the only Universal Life Church that offers and can offer legal faith based ordination, that includes succession to Christ.

World’s most famous psychics believe in God

Meet the world’s famous psychics- Jeanne Dixon, Jeffry R. Palmer, James Van Praagh, Uri Geller, Edgar Cayce, and John Edward.

Gifted and famous for their accurate predictions, they also believe in God.

Edgar Cayce is known to have demonstrated an ability to channel answers to questions on subjects, while in a self-induced trance -while lying down on a couch, closing his eyes, and folding his hands over his stomach.  His responses came to be called “readings and contain insights so valuable that  individuals have found practical help for  maintaining a well-balanced diet and improving human relationships to overcoming life-threatening illnesses and experiencing a closer walk with God.” Cayce considered himself a devout Christian and lived before the emergence of the New Age Movement.

John Edward McGee is an American psychic medium best known for his TV shows Crossing Over with John Edward and John Edward Cross Country, premised on Edward communicating with the spirits of the audience members’ deceased relatives.

Edward was raised Roman Catholic. He said he never stopped feeling connected to God and is still closely connected to his Catholic roots. Edward once said, “This is something that is driven by a belief in God. It’s the energy from that force that I think allows us to create this energy.”

Jeanne Dixon is best known for her prediction on the death of President John F Kennedy four years before his assassination. She had written in the May 13,1956 issue of Parade Magazine that the 1960 presidential election would be “dominated by labor and won by a Democrat” who would later be assassinated or die in office though not necessarily in his first term.”

Dixon gained public awareness through the biographical volume, A Gift of Prophecy: the Phenomenal Jeanne Dixon, written by syndicated columnist Ruth Montgomery.  A devout Roman Catholic, Jeanne Dixon attributed her prophetic ability to God.

American Jeffry R. Palmer, psychic consultant, metaphysician and author had  out-of-the-body experience at the age of nine. He is specialist in locating missing persons and has lent help to the police in solving mysterious problems. He gained international recognition by his accurate prediction about the occurrence of hurricane Katrina and the tsunami in Indonesia.

James Van Praagh, American  medium, has written several best-selling books on spirituality and spirit  communication translated into over 50 languages, one of which is Talking to Heaven” subsequently partnered with CBS to produce several TV-movies and mini-series based on his life and experiences, including “Living with the Dead” and “The Dead Will Tell.”

Raised  Roman Catholic he attended seminary at the age of 14, however he has described himself as experiencing spiritual phenomena from a young age that eventually drew him away from conventional religious practice.

Uri Geller is an Israeli-British performer of magic tricks, which as part of his act he has claimed are a result of psychic abilities.  Uri Geller’s most noted act was his psychic ability “to be able to bend spoons with the power of his mind.”  Born to Hungarian-Jewish parents, Uri Geller became aware of his metaphysical powers at the age of four. He came to the US in early 1970s and appeared before television audiences world wide.

American author Sylvia Browne wrote books  on the subject of spirituality and performs as a psychic and spiritual medium.. She hosts her own hour-long show on Hay House Radio discussing paranormal  issues and giving psychic advice.
